Rays of Hope
When your spirits are at their lowest ebb
When you feel unwittingly enmeshed in a cobweb
When friends turn foes for reasons unknown
When ulterior motives are attributed to cause, noble
When those around, cease to see goodness and instead malign
All that’s worthy, pure, beautiful and divine
When fellow beings revel in ignorant bliss
And a chance to tarnish you, they do not miss
When you feel yourself enveloped in darkness
And you know not how to pull back your life’s harness
When baseless fear, with its jagged ends leaves you ravaged
When your faith is fumbling and hopelessness makes you aged
When you feel broken and your world seems falling apart
And you wish you’d rather from this world depart
Hold firm and fast to the One and Only Light
To Him, the Omnipresent, who never lets you out of his sight!
‘Tis not for you, God’s chosen one, to despair,
But to journey on more determinedly on your path so fair
For all of life is but an acid test
To bring out in you, the best, your very best.
