They’ve traversed leagues away from you
It is life’s irony and paradox
You fail to recognize, nurture and cherish them when destiny places them before you
You journey on even as those dear ones disembark and depart
Either to the other realm, or just drift away from you
You journey on even as they disembark, as is only life’s natural law
But there’ a difference - You move on, as if they never existed
It’s unfortunate you do not realize they’ve traversed leagues away from you!
It’s unfortunate you do not realize they’ve traversed leagues away from you!
And you are the reason for this chasm you created
They were simple humble souls that earnestly cared
Shared your joy and wept with you, for you, in your sorrow, in your tough times.
They were the chutes that enabled you to let off those swirls of smoke & steam
Yet you scalded them with your silence as much, as with words you never meant
Those trusting beings bothered not for your apologies or endearments
Which you doled out in generous measures and never really meant.
It’s unfortunate you do not realize they’ve traversed leagues away from you!
Palpable it is, that you and those of your ilk, ill-understand the finer human attributes
Propelled by arrogance, confused as you are between self-respect and Ego
You killed without compunctions those whose hearts were full of love and compassion
You chug along, immersed in self-centred pursuits, having vopourised their trust
Their pain and unshed tears you caused in them, you do not see
Even if you do, do you really care?
Yet, those sincere souls sans spite or malice, pray that you don’t meet your nemesis
It’s unfortunate you do not realize they’ve traversed leagues away from you!
